Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk provides clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the company. General supervision of the position is provided by the Accounts Payable Manager.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assign general ledger accounts for expense reports and general vendors
- Enter and post product, non-product invoices and expense reports
- Issue and mail checks for vendors and expense reimbursements
- File paid invoices and expense reports
- Research and answer inquiry calls on outstanding and paid invoices
- Updating accounts payable vendors: i.e., vendor addresses, phone numbers
- Will be required to perform other job duties as requested, directed or assigned
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Multi-tasking, detail oriented and time management skills - to prioritize which tasks needs to be completed daily
- Team player - to assist other A/P staff when needed
- Knowledge of accounting concepts - for journal entries and G/L assignment
- Experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Required to use a 10 key calculator
- SAP experience a plus
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Repetitive use of hands and arms.
- Eye strain from continual computer use.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with 2 ½ years of experience or 5 years experience with a computerized AP system.
